BERLIN, Germany: At its first global bone & tissue days world dental congress, botiss biomaterials offered the opportunity to win a one-year course at the European Academy of Dental Implantology (EADI). Several hundred dentists from Russia, Thailand, Brazil and the European Union participated in the competition to attend the course and receive a Certified European Diploma in Implantology. The winner of the scholarship, worth €9,840, was 39-year-old Dr Rafał Kocerba from Poland.
In 2015, Kocerba will participate in a sixteen-day course consisting of four to six modules in various cities, including Barcelona, Athens, Rome and London. In small-group classes, he will be trained as a certified implant dentist. The cost of the course, which will be held in English and is equal to 47 ECTS credits, will be covered by botiss biomaterials, a Berlin-based company specialising in oral tissue regeneration.
“We are substantially investing in development and training: unique innovations, new clinical solutions, our own training events at the botiss academy and our bone & tissue days congresses. It was natural for us to support such an excellent program of the European Academy of Dental Implantology to allow a dentist to participate,” said botiss managing partner Dr Dražen Tadić.
The EADI is headquartered in Berlin and collaborates with numerous European institutions, companies and universities, such as the Charité—Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Programme directors Dr Peter Ehrl and Dr Dirk U. Duddeck have 25 years of experience in the provision of international postgraduate programmes. The individual modules of the one-year course will be taught by well-known presenters from universities and research centres throughout Europe.
