A webinar to be hosted by the COLTENE Academy on 23 September will discuss key clinical decisions for safe and simple root canal treatment using HyFlex EDM workflows. Participants will be introduced to an efficient, predictable shaping workflow that they can confidently integrate into general dental practice.

The webinar will be presented by Dr Dhiraj Arora, an endodontist and educator based in the UK. He is the founder of the evo endo brand, through which he provides endodontic training and referral services. His teaching centres on simplifying endodontics and focuses on practical, evidence-based workflows.
In this webinar, Dr Arora will introduce a simple and reproducible step-by-step approach to root canal shaping using HyFlex EDM instruments. The webinar will focus on preserving the natural anatomy of the canal and on efficient and controlled shaping workflows. It will provide practical guidance for managing curved and complex canals and avoiding common procedural errors.
“ The more the instrument can adapt to the anatomy, the less the anatomy needs to adapt to the instrument.”
Dr Arora told Dental Tribune International that HyFlex EDM offers flexibility and controlled-memory characteristics. In his view, these properties help negotiate more challenging curvatures, limit unnecessary dentine removal and prevent excessive canal enlargement to accommodate instruments. “The more the instrument can adapt to the anatomy, the less the anatomy needs to adapt to the instrument”, he said.
Participants will learn how to use HyFlex EDM instruments effectively and how to minimise instrument stress and procedural errors. The webinar will provide a practical shaping protocol intended to improve confidence, efficiency and predictability. When asked about the key takeaway of the webinar, Dr Arora said: “Shaping is not about reaching the apex as quickly as possible or producing the biggest preparation; it is about creating enough space for effective disinfection while preserving the integrity of the root. Resistance is information. Don’t push through it.”
The webinar, titled “The endodontic precision protocol—simple, predictable, repeatable”, will be broadcast on 23 September at 5 p.m. CEST. Registration is free of charge. Participants can earn one continuing education credit by watching the webinar and completing a quiz afterwards. More information can be found at colteneacademy.com.
