NEW YORK, U.S.: In a free webinar to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, an endodontic expert will explain in detail an alternative method in post-endodontic treatment. With the two reasons for treatment being either the retention of the final tooth restoration or the secure sealing of the root canal to prevent contamination of the root canal system, the alternative technique involves using nothing more than resin composite, with or without a fiber-reinforced post.
According to the webinar host, endodontic expert Dr. Daniel Černý, the advantages of this are a less-invasive preparation of the dentin, a similar modulus of elasticity of the buildup to that of dentin and a single-session treatment with root canal packing. Černý will demonstrate step by step to the participants using a clinical video why he believes that practitioners need to first understand adhesive procedures to achieve all the possible advantages of the technique and preserve as much dentin as possible.
Černý received his degree in dentistry in 1998 from the Charles University’s Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, and has run a private practice in the city since 2001 focusing on adhesive dentistry and endodontics. He is currently in the final stages of his doctoral degree at Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic, on the topic of adhesive post-endodontic treatment. Černý is President of the Czech Endodontic Society.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “Adhesive post-endodontic treatment—Clinical procedure step-by-step,” will be broadcast live on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. EST (New York). Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
