Dentsply Sirona Academy Campus: Just in!

After the launch of the Dentsply Sirona Academy Campus in September last year, the platform, on which the company and its distinguished experts provide continuing dental education through free live and on-demand webinars, has grown significantly. The most recent addition to the platform is the “Just in!” section, a series of online lectures that cover trending topics in dentistry, such as digital technologies and chairside dentistry.

One of these lectures is titled “Digital dentistry: The new standard in implant workflows” and is presented by Dr Varisha Parikh, a prosthodontist from Los Angeles in the US who focuses on the use of digital technology for dental implant treatment. The course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of chairside digital implant workflows, highlighting the benefits of digital technology in enhancing efficiency, precision and patient satisfaction in implant procedures. It covers the entire digital treatment process, from planning to the milling of custom abutments and final restorations, emphasising the advantages over traditional methods and introducing the latest digital tools and software.

In another lecture, titled “The future of chairside dentistry: Achieving ideal clinical outcomes with non-invasive tooth preparations”, dental professionals have the opportunity to learn more about the rationale, indications, suitable materials and design considerations for no-preparation restorations in order to achieve predictability and longevity in chairside dentistry. The presenter, Dr Lawrence Lau, who is a recognised expert in CEREC and CBCT technologies from Sydney in Australia, explores the use of non-invasive, no-preparation approaches for various dental restorations, for single-tooth defects to full-mouth rehabilitation, emphasising biomimetic outcomes with zero biological cost.
