MARRAKECH, Morocco: This week, MIS Implants Technologies announced that the company had decided to reschedule its global conference in Marrakech in order to avoid jeopardising the health and safety of attendees and team members. The conference will now be held from 8 to 11 October. The event was planned to take place from 14 to 17 May; however, global health concerns about the coronavirus crisis have led to the change.
In an official note to the press, MIS said that all of the hands-on workshops, the lectures by some of the top speakers in the world and the social activities, such as the opening dinner and closing party, will take place as originally planned on the revised dates.
Last week, the World Health Organization reported that the global number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has surpassed 100,000, the majority of over 80,000 still being in China, where the disease first broke out in December last year. Over 100 countries have now reported laboratory-confirmed cases. By 11 March, there had been three cases reported in Morocco, according to WHO.
