SEOUL, South Korea: Osstem Implant announced today that the Osstem Meeting 2022 held at its Seoul headquarters, was a huge success. The Osstem Meeting has been hosted by Osstem Implant biannually both on and offline since 2004. It is now a well-established global dentistry symposium.

Held on 18–19 November, the event was attended by more than 1,000 dentists and dental professionals, of whom over 200 were from Europe, Malaysia, India and Mongolia and had been invited by Osstem Implant’s subsidiaries. Proceedings of the meeting were livestreamed to 26 countries via DenAll TV, Osstem Implant’s dentistry information portal site and a YouTube channel, recording 60,000 total views globally over two days.

Leaders from 3Shape offered their best wishes for the Osstem Meeting 2022 Seoul during a video segment filmed at Osstem Korea Headquarters.

Jakob Just-Bomholt, chief executive officer of 3Shape in Denmark, and Rune Fisker, senior vice president for the product strategy division at 3Shape, visited the headquarters of Osstem Implant in South Korea to congratulate the company on holding the event.

In 2018, Osstem Implant began a domestic sales contract with 3Shape which evolved into a global partnership agreement in 2020. Osstem has since obtained rights for the global distribution of 3Shape’s TRIOS intra-oral scanner as well as 3Shape’s CAD software, leading Osstem Implant to launch the recently introduced TRIOS 5 in November of this year in South Korea. It will also make the scanner available in other countries through its major overseas subsidiaries.

“I think we share the same passion for innovation and for our customers. And then, I believe in the Korean expression translated as ‘Faster, faster’. We also want to move forward in the market as do those at Osstem Implant,” said Just-Bomholt in his congratulatory message.

Dr Kyoo-Ok Choi, chairman of Osstem Implant, delivers a special lecture at Osstem Meeting 2022 Seoul.

In a special lecture, Dr Kyoo-Ok Choi, chairman and founder of Osstem Implant, discussed processes and the basic principle of enhancing accuracy in treatment as well as shorter treatment periods through digital dentistry. Dr Choi stressed that dental CAD is the core element that makes digital dentistry possible. He also spoke about OneGuide, a digital surgical guide made by Osstem Implant. “While Osstem Implant produces excellent implants, it will surely remain a leading player in the digital dentistry market,” said Dr Choi.

The Osstem Meeting 2022 featured clinical lectures and a live surgery that shared up-to-date techniques by specialists. Among the other presentations, dentists from South Korea delivered lectures on eight subjects in the digital field, including “Efficient placement of an implant in the anterior zone using OneGuide”, “Gateway to healthy peri-implant tissue in the anterior zone”, and “Soft tissue transplantation and a digital guide”. In addition, South Korean experts in the digital field conducted a discussion on the topic “Aesthetic considerations when placing the implant immediately after extracting a tooth in the maxillary anterior region”.

In the live surgery session, which was the highlight of the event, two prominent dentists with abundant clinical experience in South Korea showed maxillary anterior implant placement using Osstem Implant’s OneGuide. These dentists once again proved the safety and efficiency of using OneGuide in surgery, as they accurately placed the implants and received a big round of applause from on-the-spot viewers.
