COLTENE has expanded the shade range of its BRILLIANT direct composites and CAD/CAM composite blocks with new bleach shade options. BRILLIANT EverGlow is now available in Xtra Bleach (XBL) and BRILLIANT Crios in Xtra Bleach Low Translucent (XBL LT). The new shades are intended to support exceptionally bright restorations for bleaching cases and patients seeking whiter aesthetics, while maintaining the materials’ established performance.

Brighter CAD/CAM restorations

BRILLIANT Crios is a high-performance CAD/CAM composite block designed to mimic the behaviour of natural tooth structure. The wear-resistant material can be processed quickly and does not require firing. It can be processed precisely, polished quickly and adapted intra-orally. It is designed to provide an accurate fit and shock absorption to help protect the restored tooth and opposing dentition. The material can also be repaired intra-orally. The new XBL LT shade is intended to deliver brighter results and is particularly suited to aesthetically demanding anterior indications, such as veneers and restorations on bleached teeth.

Brighter direct restorations

BRILLIANT EverGlow is a nano-composite for fast, highly aesthetic direct restorations. It offers excellent handling, dimensional stability and polishability, as well as long-lasting gloss. Its shade system provides three translucency levels and a chameleon effect, allowing both efficient single-shade restorations and highly aesthetic multilayer restorations. With the addition of XBL, BRILLIANT EverGlow now offers these handling and aesthetic properties in a shade suited to particularly bright restorations.

Alternative to ceramic restorations

The BRILLIANT portfolio supports efficient workflows in practices and laboratories, including single-tooth restorations and aesthetic smile makeovers. In both CAD/CAM block and direct composite form, both BRILLIANT XBL variants are cost-effective alternatives for bright aesthetic cases.

“Ceramics often mean a long, complex process—and therefore increased costs. Composite, however, is practical: direct, fast and designed for an efficient workflow. The new Xtra Bleach shades bring this simplicity to exceptionally bright restorations as well,” said Fabian Frei, director of global marketing at COLTENE.

The new shades are now available through dental suppliers. BRILLIANT Crios in XBL LT for CEREC will be offered in packs of five blocks (size 14) and BRILLIANT EverGlow XBL as a 3 g syringe with matching tips. The BRILLIANT EverGlow universal shade guide has also been accordingly updated.
