TOKYO, Japan: Despite facing increasingly tight schedules and growing operational and financial pressures, today’s dental practitioners are expected to deliver highly aesthetic, minimally invasive treatments that last. These demands can lead to elevated stress levels, compounded by high patient expectations and the wide range of treatment options available. Recognising these dynamics and the associated challenges, Kuraray Noritake Dental has developed restorative materials designed to simplify restorative procedures and support clinicians in their daily work.

Adhesive dentistry has enabled more conservative tooth preparation and greatly broadened the clinical applications of composite and ceramic restorations. However, achieving reliable adhesion across different tooth substrates and restorative materials can require careful material selection and substrate-specific pretreatment. These requirements can complicate restorative procedures and make workflows more difficult to standardise.

Reducing complexity without compromising quality

Kuraray has developed universal materials that adapt to multiple indications, techniques and substrates without adding procedural burden. The focus is not simply on innovation, but on meaningful progress that results in materials that genuinely streamline and simplify workflows.

Used individually, Kuraray’s universal materials already offer considerable flexibility. Using them in combination with one another can simplify clinical procedures further. Because the materials are developed to work together seamlessly, these combinations can increase efficiency and reduce variability.

Universal product combinations from Kuraray are designed to:

  • reduce the number of clinical steps;
  • decrease technique sensitivity;
  • improve workflow efficiency;
  • simplify inventory management;
  • reduce overall costs; and
  • support consistently high-quality treatment outcomes.

The goal is to reduce complexity without compromising quality or clinical performance. By aligning product features with proven clinical protocols, Kuraray enables practices to work smarter, not harder.

A product portfolio for simplified restorative procedures

Kuraray’s universal product portfolio consists of five core products: the adhesive CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2; the paste composite CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal; the flowable alternative CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal; the resin-based luting agent PANAVIA SA Cement Universal; and the intra- and extra-oral surface decontaminant KATANA Cleaner. Used individually, each of these products increases clinical efficiency and reduces the number of required steps. When combined strategically, they can significantly streamline clinical procedures. Clinicians can read more about the properties and clinical advantages of the individual products, as well as their combined use in direct and indirect restorations, on the Kuraray blog.
